CONSTRUCTION, DESIGN & CODE SPECIALIST
When Bergeron Technical Services first opened in 1999 much of our work was based around Shawn’s experience in the construction trades and as a code enforcement official. Almost three decades later we still provide these services along with an array of others. As Shawn looks to spend more time doing other things in life, we need to bring someone on board to fill his seat. Required Qualifications:
- No less than ten years’ experience as a master tradesperson. Must have one of the following:
- A master carpenter with documented work experience
- A licensed journeyman or master electrician
- A licensed journeyman or master plumber
- A licensed gas fitter – piping, installation, domestic appliance or Hearth System Installation and Service.
- International Code Council certification – any one of the following will be considered acceptable:
- ICC Certified Building Official
- ICC Certified Commercial Inspector
- ICC Certified Fire Inspector
- ICC Certified General Plans Examiner
- ICC Certified Residential Inspector
- In lieu of the above
- A license in architecture with no less than 10 years’ experience in the design, development of bid documents and oversite of construction.
- A license in engineering with no less than 10 years’ experience in the design, development of bid documents and oversite of construction. Engineering designation shall be civil, structural, electrical, mechanical or fire protection.
The end result is Bergeron Technical needs to slide someone into Shawn’s desk. The successful applicant will be brought on board to work with Shawn when he’s here three days each week and then they will be on their own for the other two days. Within two, maybe three years at the most, the successful applicant will take over the Building and Code Directors position here at BTS. We will be flexible with the right applicant if that person shows a serious interest in what we do and has a history of staying at one job for an extended time. Starting pay, benefits and equipment provided will be based on experience and what an applicant can bring to BTS.
