If you have cruised to the south end of the North South Road, you’ll have noticed the continuing construction of Norway Savings Bank, right on the corner of where Eastman Road meets Eagles Way. Set back behind Norway Savings, a bit further south, is the First Step Housing Community on Commercial Drive. The 17 Cottages in the First Step Housing Community on Lot 2 are the first completed site in the Ridgeline Community.  23 additional First Step Housing units are planned for Lot 5 of the development as well.

The First Step Housing Community at Continuum will provide long-term, workforce housing in the Town of Conway. The First Step Housing is funded by a $3 million affordable housing grant through the State of New Hampshire’s InvestNH program. The InvestNH program was created with allocations from the American Rescue Plan Act and the local Fiscal Recovery Funds totaling $100 million for the State of New Hampshire and to invest in projects that create affordable housing in NH communities. Ridgeline Community was one of two projects in Carroll County awarded a grant through the InvestNH Capital Grant Program, the other being another Bergeron Technical project – Bluebird’s Frunzi House on the corner of West Main Street and Hobbs Street in Conway Village.

As the consultant for the Continuum Ridgeline Project, Bergeron Technical Services has been involved in the planning, development and now the execution stages of this large-scale project. Continuum has phased plans in place for the construction of residential apartments, condos, duplexes, an assisted care facility and medical facility in the Ridgeline Community. Norway Savings Bank and the First Step Housing Community are just the first two visible indicators of a very large, multi-lot development.
